From the deserts of South Africa to the money markets of the United States, 'Hoodia Gordonii" is taking form as the latest and greatest of the thousands of diet and fat-loss products on the shelves for sale. But who owns this product and what information exists on the Phytopharm Hoodia that will be released next year for consumption?
For over thirty years scientists and researchers have been working diligently to isolate and extract the active ingredient inside the Hoodia plant which causes amazing appetite suppressing effects on both humans and animals. This compound was first developed for the pharma industry by a company called Phytopharm. For simplicity's sake in this article we will refer to this compound ingredient as "Phytopharm Hoodia".
Although the patent for Phytopharm Hoodia exists and is owned by Phytopharm you will notice that many products on the market today contains 100% pure Hoodia Gordonii. How can this be? Although the company does own the patent on the key ingredient inside of phytopharm hoodia they cannot patent the ownership and sales of any products made from the Hoodia plant itself.
For example you will find many products on the market already that do contain the real hoodia plant even though it is not phytopharm hoodia and guess what? They work extremely well at reducing hunger and shedding body fat from people and animals that ingest the plant.
You can expect to have access to the real Phytopharm Hoodia product in 2006. That is the date when the release of supplements that contain the hoodia plant will be made available from the true owner of the patent.
This is the opinion of the writer only but I do not feel that Phytopharm Hoodia will be any different or any more of a benefit than the current Hoodia plant supplements on the market. But only time will tell and we all look forward to the reviews that are posted from people that are taking standard supplements with Hoodia in them verses Phytopharm Hoodia when released.
